Huskies hold off Zionsville, Greene goes 5-for-5

Hamilton Heights got off to a good start, then held on for a wild finish to beat Zionsville 10-6 in its season-opener Monday at the Eagles’ field.
The Huskies got their first run after Isabella Neiling drew a bases-loaded walk to send Faith Hittle home. Heights had to wait until the fifth inning for its next run, but it was worth it: Adyson Baber smacked a two-run home run, also scoring Hayley Greene.
The Huskies scored another run in the sixth; Greene singled in Bayleigh Runner. Heights then poured in six runs in the top of the seventh. Sydney Massicotte singled in Alayna Baber and Kelsie Albright, Greene’s double got Massicotte and Hittle home, and Adyson Baber hit her second two-run homer, getting Greene in again. Zionsville scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh, but a flyout to Greene at third base finished the game.
Greene had an outstanding game, hitting 5-for-5, while Adyson Baber went 4-for-4. Baber also pitched six innings for the win, giving up only five hits.
Heights will host Frankton at 5 p.m. today.
