Huskies girls fall in New Castle final

Hamilton Heights fell in the championship game of Class 3A Sectional 24 at New Castle on Monday, dropping a 39-31 contest to the host Trojans.
New Castle led 7-3 after the first quarter, but the Huskies cut the Trojans’ lead to 17-15 by halftime. New Castle was ahead 25-22 after three periods, then outscored Heights 14-9 in the fourth.
Bayleigh Runner led the Huskies with 15 points, including four 3-pointers, while Lauryn Wiley drained three 3s for nine points. Runner collected nine rebounds. Jillian Osswald handed out three assists.
Heights finished the season with a 14-11 record.
