Hamilton Heights’ girls ran their win streak to eight with a dramatic double overtime win at Yorktown Thursday, 48-46.
The Class 3A No. 10 Huskies trailed 16-11 after the first quarter and 22-16 at halftime. Heights fought back in the third period and tied the game at 32-32 by the end of the quarter. Both teams scored 11 points in the fourth, ending regulation at 43-all. Neither team scored in the first overtime, then the Huskies finally got in front in the second OT.
Bayleigh Runner scored 23 points for Heights, including four 3-pointers. Runner also dished out five assists. Lauryn Wiley added 10 points and collected six rebounds. Ana Collar pulled seven rebounds and made six steals.
The Huskies are now 14-6 and host Lafayette Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the third-place game of the Hoosier Conference playoffs.
