Huskies get big Senior Night win

The Hamilton Heights seniors stepped up on Senior Night for a great win at the Husky Dome.
Heights beat Peru 85-64 in their final home game of the season. The Huskies trailed the Tigers 18-14 after the first quarter, but stunned the visitors with a 28-point second period to take a 42-33 lead.
Balance was the name of the game in the first half, with five different players scoring at least six points. Camron Knott and AJ Field both had eight points, with Field draining two 3-pointers. Gus Etchison scored seven and Grant LePoidevin had six – and he was just getting started.
Peru hung around in the third quarter, cutting the Huskies’ lead to 54-47 by the end of the period. But Heights turned it on again in the fourth, pouring in 31 points. Knott added 11 points, while LePoidevin nailed two 3s on his way to 10 fourth-quarter points.
The senior LePoidevin finished with 16 points for the Huskies. Knott led the way with 21 points, while senior Caleb Bean scored 10 and also had six rebounds and two blocked shots.
Another senior, Drayden Thomas pulled seven rebounds and dished out four assists. Gus Etchison handed out six assists and Knott made five steals.
Heights won the junior varsity game 67-33. Issiac Hickok had 15 points and seven rebounds, Isaac Wilson added 13 points and Cory VonFeldt had 11 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals.
The Huskies are 11-10 and finish their regular season Tuesday at Harrison.
