Huskies fall to Jay County

Hamilton Heights dropped its Class 3A Sectional 24 semi-final game to Jay County on Friday, falling 55-46 at the New Castle Fieldhouse.
The Patriots led 13-9 after the first quarter, then extended their advantage to 26-12 by halftime. The Huskies fought back in the third period, cutting Jay County’s lead to 35-27 by the end of the quarter. Luke Carroll scored five points, while Evan Williamson hit a 3-pointer.
Heights continued to battle in the fourth quarter. Tillman Etchison threw in three triples on his way to 11 points during the quarter, while Carroll scored another six.
Etchison finished the game with 17 points and also handed out five assists. Carroll had 13 points and nine rebounds, while Evan Williamson drained three 3s on his way to 10 points. Dean Mason collected five rebounds.
The Huskies completed their season with a 10-12 record.
