Huskies fall to Cass, finish fourth in East Division

Hamilton Heights dropped a Hoosier Conference East Division game at Lewis Cass 27-7 on Friday.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Kings put two touchdowns on the board during the first two minutes of the second period. The Huskies answered quickly, as Isaac Tuma took a 57-yard pass from Issac Wilson in to score. Michael Lecher made the extra point kick, and Heights was within 14-7 at halftime.
The Huskies then held Cass scoreless in the third quarter, but the Kings scored on a short run with 11:25 left in the fourth. Another touchdown put Cass ahead by what would be the final margin.
Wilson had a great passing game, completing 12 of 18 attempts for 132 yards. Tad Defoe made five catches, while Tuma totaled 78 yards in his four catches. Alex Roth led the Heights rushing with 41 yards.
Heights finished East Division play 1-3, which puts it in fourth place. The Huskies are 1-7 overall and will host the fourth-place team from the West Division next week in the Hoosier Conference playoff game. The West Division has three teams tied for second (Rensselaer Central, Twin Lakes and Lafayette Central Catholic), all of which have 2-2 records, so tiebreakers will be necessary to figure out Heights’ opponent.
