Huskies fall at North Montgomery

Hamilton Heights lost at North Montgomery 54-20 in a first-round game in Class 3A Sectional 26.
The Chargers led 14-0 in the first quarter, but the Huskies got on the board in that period as well. Isiah Campbell caught a 25-yard pass from Isaac Wilson.
Heights then tied the game 36 seconds into the second quarter, thanks to Campbell again: He ran the ball 12 yards into the end zone. Michael Lecher made both extra-point kicks, and that evened the score at 14-14. But North scored on a short run with 4:09 left in the half, and took a 20-14 lead into the locker room at the break.
The Chargers dominated in the second half, scoring five more touchdowns. Heights did get one more score late in the fourth, when Tad Defoe caught at 37-yard pass from Wilson.
The sophomore Wilson had a solid game at quarterback, completing 17 of 31 passes for 229 yards. Isaac Tuma caught six of those throws, while Defoe and Camron Knott each made four receptions. Caleb Schakel led the Huskies’ ground game with 49 yards.
Heights finished its season with a 2-8 record.
