Hamilton Heights dropped a tough Hoosier Conference East Division game to Western on Saturday, falling 71-68 at the Huskies’ gym.
The Panthers outscored Heights in each of the first three quarters. Western led 15-12 after one quarter and 30-25 at halftime. The Panthers then took a 48-38 lead after three periods. The Huskies poured in 30 points in the fourth quarter, including 18 points from Gus Etchison, but Western was able to hold on.
Etchison finished the game with 38 points, including six 3-pointers. Luke Carroll scored 13 points and collected eight rebounds, with Etchison pulling six rebounds.
The Huskies dropped to 2-1 in division play; the Panthers are now on top at 3-0. Heights is 10-3 overall and plays its final division game of the season Tuesday when it hosts Lewis Cass. The Kings are 2-0 in the East.
