Hamilton Heights battled at Class 3A No. 10 Danville on Saturday, eventually falling 55-50.
The Huskies and the Warriors were tied at 20-20 at halftime. Heights edged ahead 37-34 after the third quarter, but Danville used a 21-point fourth period to emerge with the victory.
Kayla Kirtley led the Huskies’ balanced scoring with 13 points, while Bayleigh Runner and Lauryn Wiley each added 10 points. Kirtley drained three 3-pointers, as did Lexi Branham for her total of nine points. Branham also handed out five assists. Ana Collar was a force on the boards with nine rebounds.
Heights is now 0-2 for the season. The Huskies play their first home game on Friday, welcoming Noblesville to the Husky Dome.
