Husband and wife found shot on Noblesville’s west side

At 1:28 p.m. Thursday, Noblesville police officers responded to 15905 Plains Road to a report of a shooting inside the residence.

Officers arrived on the scene a short time later and located two victims, male and female, upstairs and both suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers and firefighters provided immediate care to the victims and both were transported by ground ambulance to area hospitals.

The female victim, Kristin A. Tomalia, 37, Noblesville, suffered at least one gunshot wound and was transported by ground ambulance to Ascension St. Vincent (Indianapolis) with life-threatening injuries. She later succumbed to her wounds shortly after arriving at the hospital.

The male victim, Rene C. Tomalia, 43, Noblesville, suffered at least one gunshot wound and was transported by ground ambulance to Eskenazi Health (Indianapolis) with life-threatening injuries. He also later succumbed to his wounds shortly after arriving at the hospital.

The victims were determined to be a married couple.

Investigators petitioned for and were later granted a search warrant in order to process the scene and collect evidence. Based on witness statements and alleged evidence at the scene, investigators believe that there is no cause for public concern regarding any additional suspect(s) in this case.
