Matching Campaign will double every dollar to help Hoosier animals
Submitted
The Humane Society for Hamilton County (HSHC) will soon kick off its Annual Matching Campaign. From June 1 to 30, every donation made to the shelter is matched dollar-for-dollar, doubling the community’s impact when you contribute to help animals in need.
During the campaign, HSHC’s generous donors will match donations up to $115,000. They aim to raise $230,000 to provide essential care, medical treatment, and shelter for the 4,000 animals that rely on HSHC each year. Because many HSHC animals wait weeks – or even months – for their forever homes, the success of this initiative has become essential to ensuring that the shelter can continue to give every animal the chance to live, love, and be loved.
According to HSHC, more than 20 donors have already pledged matching dollars, including County Commissioner Mark Heirbrandt and Deb and Mike Bush. Other donors have so far chosen to remain anonymous.
“At HSHC, we are committed to finding a loving home for every animal, no matter how long it takes. But we cannot keep that promise on our own,” explains Emma Nobbe, Community Engagement Manager. “Our current longest resident has been waiting nearly 900 days to find a home, and there are at least 50 more who have waited over 200 days to find loving homes. By donating during the Annual Matching Campaign, you are offering these animals an even greater chance to find their happily ever after – no matter how long it takes.”
