The Hamilton Southeastern boys tennis team placed third in the Fort Wayne Carroll Invite on Saturday, winning two of three duals.
The No. 23 Royals won their first dual 5-0 over No. 24 Delta, taking all the matches in straight sets. Singles winners were No. 1 Andrew Orme, No. 2 Paul Schneider and No. 3 Rohan Golla. In doubles, No. 1 Daniel Verde and Andrew Spirrison and No. 2 Logan Hubbard and Jackson Bill were the winner.
In the second round, Southeastern fell to No. 10 Carroll 3-2, with both doubles teams getting victories. The Royals rebounded in the final round to beat No. 16 Cathedral 3-2. Golla won a 10-8 third set super tiebreak to clinch the meet, this after both doubles teams again won both their matches.
“Overall, I thought this was a very good result for our team,” said HSE coach Kirk Webber. “We won 10 out of 15 matches and defeated two teams ranked higher than us.”
Southeastern is 4-6 and plays at Franklin Central on Tuesday.
