The Fishers Arts Council announced the winners of the 2021 STAR Bank Senior Showcase during an awards ceremony held Friday, April 16 at The Art Gallery at City Hall.
Mayor Scott Fadness and STAR Bank VP Courtney Lloyd presented the award for Best in Show to Hamilton Southeastern (HSE) High School student Maxim Kovalsky for his drawing titled “Oppenheimer.” Kovalsky also won first place in the painting category for his artwork titled “Orbit.”
Scholarship awards for the evening totaled $2,500.
The evening’s other big winner was Fishers High School (FHS) senior Olivia Larson, who won the Jordan D. Snider Award for Art Best Reflecting Poetry or the Written Word for her piece, “A Study of Life.” The award was presented by Catherine A. Snider and Mayor Fadness.
The artwork will remain on exhibit at The Art Gallery at City Hall, 1 Municipal Drive, Fishers, during the month of April from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
