Hamilton Southeastern Schools has recognized 24 outstanding non-certified employees as this year’s Honor & Excellence award recipients. These individuals are the heart of HSE’s schools and programs – nominated by their peers for their unwavering dedication and daily impact.
Non-certified staff make up more than half of HSE Schools’ 2,500-person workforce.
From preparing meals and maintaining welcoming facilities to providing essential health services and supporting classroom learning, these team members ensure our schools run smoothly and safely. Their work is vital to the success and well-being of every student and staff member.
Each of HSE’s 22 schools and two district programs selects one honoree annually in recognition of their exceptional service.

“Our support staff are often the first to greet our students in the morning and the last to send them home safely,” Superintendent Pat Mapes said. “They are role models, trusted adults, and the steady presence that keeps our students engaged and on-track. We simply couldn’t do this work without them. I’m incredibly grateful for their service and proud to celebrate this year’s honorees.”
