Carmel had a nice trip up to Fort Wayne on Saturday night, beating Carroll 62-41.
The game was tied at 12-12 after the first quarter, but the Class 4A No. 2 Greyhounds took over after that, outscoring the Chargers in each of the next three periods. Carmel led 28-22 at halftime.
John Michael Mulloy had an outstanding game, scoring 20 points that included two 3-pointers and a 6-of-6 effort from the free throw line. Mulloy also had six rebounds and six assists. Andrew Owens added 11 points, including a pair of 3s, and Karsten Windlan scored 10. Luke Heady handed out five assists.
Carmel is 17-1 and will play a huge Metropolitan Conference game on Friday: No. 1 Warren Central will come to the Eric Clark Activity Center. The Greyhounds are 6-0 in the MIC and the Warriors are 4-1.
