‘Hounds take care of Ben Davis

Carmel closed out the regular season with a three-game win streak, beating Ben Davis 62-48 in a Metropolitan Conference game at the Giants’ gym.
The Greyhounds led 15-10 after the first quarter and 27-24 at halftime. Carmel then took over in the third period, allowing the Giants only six points while pouring in 22. That gave the ‘Hounds a 49-30 lead, and that carried them through the fourth quarter.
Hannah Lach scored 18 points for Carmel, while Kate Clarke added 12 points. Both players made two 3-pointers. Emily Roper dominated the boards with 12 rebounds and also handed out five assists.
The Greyhounds finished MIC play with a 5-2 record, tying for second with Lawrence North. Carmel is 14-6 overall and will play next Friday in the semi-finals of the Zionsville sectional. The ‘Hounds will take on the winner of Tuesday’s game between Westfield and Fishers.
