Carmel’s boys split a pair of games last weekend at the Paul Loggan Classic at North Central.
The Greyhounds cruised past Lake Central last Friday 57-26. Carmel led 9-3 after the first quarter, went up 29-8 by halftime and shut out the Indians in the third quarter, scoring 16 points for a 45-8 lead.
Nine different players scored for the Greyhounds, led by Aiden Dickerson’s 12 points. Miles Wiley and Evan Harrell each added 10 points, while Jamichael Fountain made three 3-pointers for nine points. Fountain and Harrell each pulled six rebounds, with Alex Couto dishing out six assists and getting four rebounds.
Carmel dropped its second game last Saturday 55-44 to Evansville Reitz. The Panthers jumped out to a 19-5 lead after the first quarter. The ‘Hounds cut it to 33-24 by halftime, but Reitz stayed in front for the entire second half.
Couto scored 12 points for Carmel and Harrell scored 10 and collected eight rebounds. Couto handed out two assists.
The Greyhounds are 6-2 and host Cathedral on Saturday.
