‘Hounds girls drop MIC finale at Ben Davis

Carmel dropped a back-and-forth game at Ben Davis Friday, losing 59-56 in the Greyhounds’ Metropolitan Conference and regular-season finale.
Carmel led 17-14 after the first quarter, but the Giants came back to tie by halftime, 28-28. The ‘Hounds led 45-43 after the third period, but Ben Davis outscored Carmel 16-11 in the fourth.
Kate Clarke scored 14 points, with Reagan Hune adding 12 points. Macy Berglund pulled nine rebounds, followed by Hune with eight and Mackenzie Wood with seven. Sophie Bair dished out six assists, while Bridget Dunn made two blocked shots.
The Greyhounds finished MIC play 2-5 and are 12-10 for the season. They will play Noblesville Tuesday in the first round of Sectional 8 at Hamilton Southeastern.
