Carmel got a solid Homecoming victory over North Central on Friday, with the Greyhounds winning 27-6 at Carmel Stadium.
The ‘Hounds got their first touchdown with 59 seconds left in the first quarter. Norvil Tucker zoomed down to the Panthers’ three-yard line to get Carmel in scoring position, then took the ball in from there to score the game’s first points.
Lukas Kristhanmoorthy made the extra point kick, then added three more points in the second quarter with a field goal. Tucker found the end zone again just before halftime, with an 18-yard run to put the ‘Hounds ahead 17-0 at the break.
Tucker added one more touchdown in the fourth quarter with a 21-yard run. Krishtanmoorthy made the extra-point kick, giving him a perfect 3-of-3 night, then kicked another field goal to complete Carmel’s scoring. The Panthers scored with 1:17 left in the game, but the Greyhounds had the contest well in hand by then.
Tucker finished the game with 141 yards on 12 carries. Quarterback Anthony Coellner went 9-of-14, with Nate Rogers getting seven receptions.
The ‘Hounds are 4-2 and play next Friday at Ben Davis.
