‘Hounds fall to Carroll

Carmel dropped a Saturday afternoon game to Class 4A No. 9 Fort Wayne Carroll 61-54 at the Eric Clark Activity Center.
The Greyhounds led 14-10 after the first quarter, but the Chargers took over in the second period, scoring 20 points to hold a 30-27 lead at halftime. Carroll then jumped ahead 48-35 after three quarters and held off a Carmel comeback in the fourth.
Kate Clarke scored 18 points for the ‘Hounds, while Emily Roper earned a double-double of 11 rebounds and 10 points. Hannah Lach had nine points, four assists and two blocked shots. Erin Baker handed out four assists and Riley Pennington made four steals.
Carmel is 11-6 and hosts Pike Friday in a Metropolitan Conference game.
