‘Hounds boys beat Ben Davis, stay perfect in MIC

Carmel stayed perfect in Metropolitan Conference play by beating Ben Davis on Friday.
The Class 4A No. 2 Greyhounds won 49-39 at the Eric Clark Activity Center. Carmel outscored Ben Davis in each quarter, leading 9-4 after the first quarter and 20-14 at halftime. An 18-point fourth period sealed the victory.
Karsten Windlan had a solid shooting performance on his way to a team-leading 18 points. Windlan made all five of his two-point attempts and went 8 of 9 from the free throw line. Meanwhile, Andrew Owens drained three 3-pointers to score nine points. Luke Heady added eight points.
John Michael Mulloy pulled 10 rebounds and had two blocked shots to go with seven points, while Robert Fry had six rebounds and five points. Heady and Owens both collected five rebounds.
The Greyhounds are 5-0 in the MIC and improved to 13-1 overall. Carmel travels to New Castle tonight for a 7:30 p.m. game.
