Toe-tapping musical & dinner theatre – it’s a match made in Heaven!

The classic country sounds of Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette and more soar this summer at Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre with Honky Tonk Angels, now on stage.

When three gutsy gals from different backgrounds take charge of their lives, they decide to follow their honky tonk dreams to the city of Nashville. Angela Bodine, played by Bridgette Ludlow (Kinky Boots, A Beef & Boards Christmas), is a larger-than-life housewife from Texas with a beer drinking, truck driving husband named Bubba. Darlene Purvis, played by Shelbi Berry (Hello, Dolly!, Phantom), decides to leave her Mississippi life of poverty to follow her dream. And Sue Ellen Smith Barney Fife, played by Kaylee Verble (42nd Street, A Beef & Boards Christmas), is a secretary in Los Angeles who sings about quitting her job and leaving her no-boundaries boss behind, all while singing the Dolly Parton classic, “9 To 5.”

After they meet and board their bus, they join forces and decide to form a new singing group: The Honky Tonk Angels!

The Orlando Sentinel called Honky Tonk Angels “a down-home treat for country music fans,” while the Chicago Tribune called it “a highly enjoyable revue,” and North Bay Stage and Screen calls it “a raucous and enjoyable evening of entertainment.” In all, Honky Tonk Angels includes more than 30 classic country tunes, including “I Will Always Love You,” “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” “Stand By Your Man,” “These Boots Are Made for Walking,” “Delta Dawn,” “Your Good Girl’s Gonna Go Bad,” and “It Wasn’t God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels.”
