July 1, 1945 – September 21, 2020
Hershel “Eugene” Walls, 75, Venice, Fla., formerly of Fishers, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2020 at his residence in Venice. He was born on July 1, 1945 to Henry and Betty (nee Spaur) Walls in Noblesville. Eugene was employed by the Firestone Corporation, the Chrysler Corporation, and was an entrepreneur.
Eugene was a man of integrity whose charitable donations helped many and were more often than not done so anonymously. Eugene took pride in helping others and was a person who expected nothing in return. Eugene enjoyed staying busy and was extremely mechanically inclined. There was not anything he could not figure out that needed remodeling, built from the ground up, or re-engineered to his standard. According to his son Allen, “I would not have achieved the level of success in the fire service profession had it not been for my father’s high level of expectation, his teaching the value of hard work, and his demand for excellence growing up that has always been first and foremost in my mind even to this day”. Eugene will be dearly missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon (nee Harper) Walls; sons, Allen (Tia) and Bryan (Michelle); daughter, Rhonda (Richard); grandchildren, Joshua, Braeden, Justin (Marilyn), Amber (Michael) and Jacob; and great-granddaughters, Olivia and Kennedy.
A private visitation will be held. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2020 at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville with anyone welcome to attend. Pastor Mark Garrett will be officiating, with burial immediately following the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 8604 Allisonville Road, Suite 140, Indianapolis, IN 46250.
In addition, the family wishes that others always remember to be mindful of others so as to be a blessing in their lives in order to make a difference in the world.
