Here’s a look at what’s upcoming at Civic Theatre in Carmel

See Irving Berlin’s piano

Thanks to the Great American Songbook Foundation, Irving Berlin’s custom piano will be on display in the Tarkington lobby at the White Christmas performances on Dec. 20 and 21.

Alongside the piano will be an original promotional poster for the movie, a written arrangement of “White Christmas” owned by Rosemary Clooney, and a snow globe given by Berlin to Clooney as a memento of the production.

Know before you go

The City of Carmel has designed a traffic flow plan intended to ease congestion around the Center for the Performing Arts during the busy holiday season. If you’re planning to see White Christmas, please take a moment to review these changes.

While the Christkindlmarkt is open, 3rd Avenue will be closed to southbound traffic between the City Center Drive roundabout and the entrance to the Center Garage at 819 3rd Ave. SW. This closure should not affect east-west traffic on City Center Drive or northbound traffic on 3rd Avenue.

During this time, patrons should approach from the south and east, with free public parking available in the Center Garage on 3rd Avenue, as well as Veterans Way Garage at 100 City Center Drive and Civic Square Garage at 50 Red Truck Road, both accessible from Range Line Road.

Plan to arrive 40 minutes early and prepare for limited parking. Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the house manager.
