Hamilton Heights School Corporation will make history on Friday, March 20 when it welcomes its first Athletic Hall of Fame inductees. Through nominations made by the public and a final selection committee, the inductees represent a team and four multi-sport athletes that span of the course of eight decades.

The ceremony and banquet begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be conducted at Hamilton Heights High School, 25802 State Road 19, Arcadia. Inductees will be given a metal display and their names and pictures will be proudly displayed in the Athletic Hall of Fame located in the new Athletic Center.

The public is invited to help recognize and honor these inductees. Tickets are $10 and are available by contacting the HHHS Athletic Office at (317) 985-3551 or Mitch Street at (317) 984-3551, ext. 1092.

“It’s been such a fun process to get this project off and running,” said Mitch Street, Hamilton Heights High School Hall of Fame Committee Chairman, Dean of Students, and former Head Football Coach for the Huskies. “I’m thankful that we now have an area that will recognize these historic athletic figures. I want community members, alumni and students (past and present) to be able to walk through this area and look up at those names and perhaps, with a sense of nostalgia, but more importantly, recognize the effort, determination and commitment that allowed these recipients to achieve in the athletic realm but also in life. I am very excited for the upcoming induction and the opportunity to hear these individuals share a snapshot of their experiences.”

“Hamilton Heights Athletic Hall of Fame is an opportunity for the corporation to recognize graduates and other individuals for their contributions to the district and achievements inside and outside the community,” added Superintendent Dr. Derek Arrowood. “Our committee selected five inductees not only for their athletic achievements at Heights but because they demonstrate the values of good character and citizenship we try to promote in our students. We look forward to honoring them in March.”

Hamilton Heights Athletic Hall of Fame was created to recognize and honor Hamilton Heights High School athletes, coaches, teams, and athletic program contributors for their achievements and/or contributions to the Hamilton Heights High School athletic program.
