The Hamilton Heights girls basketball team came back from a 15-day break and immediately returned to its winning ways.
The Huskies, ranked No. 1 in the Class 3A Associated Press poll and No. 18 in the IBCA one-class poll, took care of North Miami 50-34 in a Wednesday away game. Heights outscored the Warriors in each quarter, although the first period was close with the Huskies leading 14-12 after one.
Heights ran through the second quarter 14-3. Five different players scored, with Camryn Runner adding five points. Runner then added 12 points in the second half, including two 3s, to finish with a game-high 24 points and three triples.
Ella Hickok added 12 points.
The Huskies are 6-1 and host 2A No. 5 Bishop Luers on Saturday afternoon.
