The Hamilton Heights swim teams swept a dual meet with Lewis Cass on Thursday.
The Huskies girls team won 91.5-88.5. Heights won six events, starting with a victory in the medley relay by Jane Pache, Teegan Madara, Kennedy Weaver and Mady Hutcherson. Madara wound up with four event wins, as she placed first in the 50 freestyle and backstroke, then joined Anna Jozsa, Sophia Hulen and Hutcherson to win the 200 free relay.
Hutcherson was first in the 100 free, while Campbell Lively-Mason won diving. Heights clinched the meet by taking second and third in the 400 free relay; Weaver, Hulen, Alaina Stohler and Jozsa were the second-place group and Sarah Toll, Mary Ella Bichey, Maggie Pache and Jane Pache took third.
Other girls results were: Hutcherson and Stohler placed 2-3 in the 200 free; Weaver, Jozsa and Toll finished 2-3-4 in the butterfly; and Weaver and Bichey placed 2-3 in the 500 free.
In the boys meet, Hamilton Heights won 113-63. The Huskies won seven events, including a 1-2 finish in diving from Nathan Cox and Ethan Swart. Cox scored 351.50 points, setting another new school record.
Eli VanHaaren won two events, taking the 100 free (52.34 seconds) and backstroke (1:01.44), while Alex Knepper won the 50 free in a time of 26.73 seconds. Blake Blackhurst out-touched his Lewis Cass opponent to win the 500 free.
Forrer led a 1-2-3 sweep of the butterfly, with Blackhurst taking second and Noah Shlater placing third. Heights won two relays, starting with VanHaaren, Shlater, Grant Forrer and Knepper in the 200 free relay, while Blackhurst, VanHaaren, Forrer and Knepper were first in the 400 free relay.
In the medley relay, the team of Gabe Roosa, Max Bowman, Shlater and Blackhurst placed second, while the group of Owen Eshelman, Rudy Bowman, Cole Martin and Landon Poland took third. Forrer, Martin and Bowman placed 2-3-4 in the 200 free, while Shlater, Roosa and Bowman finished 2-3-4 in the IM.
