The greater Northern Hamilton County community is invited to attend a special Open House and Ribbon Cutting ceremony at Hamilton Heights High School beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2 to celebrate its new onsite greenhouse.
The celebration kicks off with a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Hamilton Heights Principal Jarrod Mason, followed by a tour of the corporation’s newest addition. The over 2,000 square-foot facility will serve as a hands-on resource for students interested in careers in agriculture, horticulture, plant and soil science and genetic engineering fields. The greenhouse features a fully-automated environment, whole flood table, LED grow lamps and unlimited learning opportunities.
“This facility is a great addition to the school and our strong agriculture program,” said Emilie Carson, Agricultural Educator and FFA Advisor, who has been closely involved with the project from its inception. “This wonderful amenity brings with it great potential in our curriculum along with offering interactive lessons in science, math, nutrition, management, visual arts and much more!”
“We are very excited to share our newest educational resource with district families, local businesses and organizations,” added Mason, who will serve as the event’s Master of Ceremonies. “The possibilities this new space brings to our students, staff and community are virtually limitless.”
The Open House will coincide with the Heights FFA Chapter’s flower (annuals) sale. Proceeds from the sale will support Heights FFA activities.
Hamilton Heights High School is located at 25802 State Road 19, Arcadia. Refreshments will be served.
