Heights Middle School wraps up season with MIC Championship Trophy & HC Tournament win

The Hamilton Heights Middle School Wrestling Team wrapped up its season with two impressive wins bringing its 2025 season to an incredible close.

The team finished 22-1 on the season winning the 2025 Lebanon Tiger Invitational, taking second place at the 2025 Husky Duals, brought home the Mid-Indiana Conference Team Championships and were this year’s Hamilton County Wrestling Tournament Champions.

The team finished the 2025 Hamilton County Tournament with a score of 298.5, which was good enough to place them in front of the other 10 County Schools. Team scores were: Noblesville West (271.5), Riverside (244.5), Carmel Clay (178.5), Westfield (172.5), Noblesville East (169), Fishers (162.5), Creekside (139), Carmel (126), Hamilton Southeastern (75), Fall Creek (38.5).

Rodney Case, Hamilton Heights Middle School Wrestling Coach, said Heights finished the tournament with four Individual County Champs. Kase Powell was the first champion (120 pounds), finishing his season undefeated with a record of 28-0. Other Heights champions were: Lucas Powers (132) with a season record of 20-2, Braxtyn Baber (157) with a season record of 26-2, and Sam Van Hook (190) with a season record of 24-4.

Other place holders included:

Second place: Branson Collins (70) season record 24-4, Colton Millikan (80) season record 23-4, Brayden Rutledge (138) season record 22-6, Carson Kinder (285) Season Record 17-6

Third Place:  Gunner Reed (75) season Record 11-2, Zeke Rice (90) season record 21-8, Seth Van Hook (165) season record 22-5, Cooper Canada (175) season record 21-7

Fourth Place:  Landon Sisson (85) season record 22-10, Lucas Case (106) season record 15-9, Jack Higgins (113) season record 14-13

Fifth Place: Colton Watson (150) season record 13-13, Thiago Zuniga (245) season record 22-8

Sixth Place: Jonah Wolfgang (126) season record 11-5

“There were four other varsity wrestlers that had a great season and competed in the county tournament, but just came up short of the placement round,” Case explained. “Wesley Trost (95) season record 10-10, Luke Nichols (100) season record 17-11, Jameson Mullins (144) season record 18-8, and Sophie Smith-Bailey (215) season record 6-1.

The Varsity Wrestling Team won this year’s MIC Tournament with a score of 388 points. Placing ahead of Western (296.5), Kokomo (229), Logansport (207.5), and Tipton (119.5). All wrestlers placed in the top four.

Third Place finishers: (95) Wesley Trost, (100) Luke Nichols, (113) Jack Higgins,  (144) Jameson Mullins, and (245) Thiago Zuniga

Fourth Place finisher:  (215) Wyatt Hamilton

Coach Case shared a big shoutout for the hard work and dedication of the wrestlers and the support from family, friends, and fans this season.
