Heights girls place second, boys place third at conference meet

The Hamilton Heights swim teams competed in the Hoosier Conference meet last Saturday at Purdue University.

In the girls meet, the Huskies placed second with 370 points, winning eight of the 12 events. West Lafayette won the meet with 432 points. Heights had three double individual winners: Ayla Madara in the 200 freestyle and butterfly events, Sophia Hulen in the 50 and 100 freestyles, and Amira Leer in the individual medley and the 500 free.

Hulen, Leer and Madara all teamed with Audrey Cain to finish the meet with a victory in the 400 freestyle relay. Campbell Lively-Mason won the diving event.

In the boys meet, the Huskies finished third with 296 points. Aiden Clarke won the backstroke for Heights. Western dominated the meet by scoring 488 points and winning six events, followed by West Lafayette with 344 points and two event wins.
