The Hamilton Heights girls basketball team fell to Lafayette Central Catholic 48-35 in the third-place game of the Hoosier Conference playoffs Friday at the Knights’ gym.
Central Catholic dominated the first quarter, leading 18-4. The Huskies cut that advantage to 28-20 by halftime, with Ella Hickok throwing in four 3-pointers during the second period. But LCC ramped up its defense again in the third quarter, allowing Heights only five points. The Knights led 39-25 after three.
Hickok and Camryn Runner both finished with 16 points. Runner went 10-of-12 from the free-throw line.
Heights finished fourth in the conference and is 16-5 overall. The Huskies play at Heritage Christian on Thursday in their regular-season finale.
