Members of the Hamilton Heights High School Drama Department cordially invite the community to attend its live production of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe dramatized by Joseph Robinette from the story by C. S. Lewis. The play is being directed by Brooks Myers with Mataya Watson as Stage Manager.
The play is a dramatization of C.S. Lewis’ classic work. Four children accidentally find themselves in Narnia after stumbling through an old wardrobe. The children and audience are introduced to characters like Tumnus the Faun, the White Witch, Aslan the great lion, and Mr. and Mrs. Beaver. The witch is determined to keep Narnia in her possession and end the reign of Aslan, which leads to exciting action scenes involving battles, chases, and duels.
“Drama club president, senior Jaxon Smith, and vice president, senior Alyssa Potts, chose the play for this year,” explained Brooks Myers, of the students desire to choose a play that would appeal to everyone. “In addition, this play provides a variety of roles, which allows something for everyone who wants to be involved.”
The play features 26 cast and crew and has been a labor of love.
“The group rose to the challenges of the season and found creative ways to rehearse amid quarantines, school closures, and social distancing restrictions to continue bring this play to life,” noted Myers. “We are excited to share this beloved classic with the community.”
