Hamilton Heights held off Western Boone Tuesday night, winning 67-65 in the Huskies’ first game back at the Husky Dome in over a month.
Heights led early, going up 15-12 after the first quarter and leading 37-26 at halftime. The Stars began their comeback by scoring 23 points in the third period, but the Huskies were able to hang on at the end. Gus Etchison went 6-of-6 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter to help out Heights.
Etchison scored 28 points, with AJ Field adding 17 and Brent Pennington 13. The Huskies had another huge game from long range, making 13 3-pointers. Field drained five 3s, with Etchison throwing in four, Pennington making three and Issiac Hickok making one.
Pennington and Field both pulled five rebounds. Etchison handed out five assists and Field made three blocked shots.
Heights is 9-5 and plays at Tipton on Friday.
