Hamilton North Public Library is featuring a diverse array of artwork from students at Hamilton Heights Middle and High schools now through April 12.
A special exhibition and reception earlier in the month did no less than impress with bright colors, eclectic designs and creativity with two- and three-dimensional artwork from some of Heights’ best young artists.
Erin Goodman and Taylor Myers, art teachers at Hamilton Heights Middle and High schools, in cooperation with the Hamilton North Pubic Library, helped create the displays featured at the library to highlight the breadth and scope of Heights’ young artists.
The second annual artist reception, held earlier to celebrate Youth Art Month, offered families and members of the community the chance to enjoy exceptional artwork and mingle with artists and the talented and inspirational art teachers who lead their art programs.
“There is nothing a teacher loves more than the opportunity to showcase student successes,” said Erin Goodman, Hamilton Heights Middle School art teacher. “We are so appreciative of the Hamilton North Public Library for allowing us to use their wonderful exhibit space.”
Jeannann Dodson, a parent who attended the show, said she loved seeing this exhibit and the proud faces of our students. “With so many art forms represented, it proves there is a place in art for everyone,” she pointed out. “What a powerful message for our students and our community!”
“Having a place in the community to call home for our students’ artwork and ideas is such a blessing,” added Taylor Myers, Hamilton Heights High School art teacher. “I am so thankful for the Hamilton North Public Library allowing us to exhibit all year and on a larger scale in the month of March.”
Over 100 students from the middle and high schools submitted entries for this year’s display.
