Hear “Sounds of America” with White River Wind Symphony

The White River Wind Symphony will present its eighth annual “Sounds of America” concert at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 30 at Legacy Bible Church, 13490 Howe Road, Fishers.

This year’s theme is By Land, Sea, and Air. The concert will feature pieces representing each of those three modes of transportation: during war and peace, in fiction and reality, from slow to fast and everything in between.

Guest soloists are Mindy Root, voice (“The Star-Spangled Banner”) and Madison Weiss, piano (“Rhapsody in Blue,” which was composed 100 years ago). Other music includes music from film, Broadway, television, 1960s pop, and other genres. In addition to the music of the theme, the concert will feature a tribute to active, reserve, and retired military. This will be the first year the concert will include the Space Force song in that tribute.

The White River Wind Symphony, under the direction of Dr. Keith Kunda, is the professional concert band in Fishers. Tickets to the concert are available at FishersMusicWorks.org. Adult tickets are $12. Students under age 18 are free.
