The Hamilton County Health Department will hold two free webinars in June aimed at educating and empowering parents and caregivers, one focused on Children’s CPR and the other on Internet Safety.

Children’s CPR Webinar
Wednesday, June 4 at 6 p.m.

The Health Department, in collaboration with Hamilton County Public Safety Communications (Dispatch), will offer a virtual CPR training session specifically designed for children’s emergencies. Participants will learn lifesaving techniques from certified professionals to help prepare them for high-stress situations involving children.

Registration is required. Go to tinyurl.com/childrencpr.

“Knowing how to perform CPR on a child can mean the difference between life and death in a critical moment,” said Keri Key of Hamilton County Public Safety Communications. “Every parent, grandparent, babysitter, and caregiver should be equipped with these skills.”

Internet Safety for Parents
Wednesday, June 18 at 6 p.m.

The second webinar, in partnership with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, will focus on helping parents and guardians navigate the ever-changing digital world alongside their children. Topics will include online predators, cyberbullying, privacy settings, and best practices for open, honest digital conversations at home.

Registration is required. Go to tinyurl.com/hamcointernetsafety.

“The online world can be a dangerous place if children aren’t guided properly,” said Detective Larry Bendzen of the Hamilton County Metro Child Exploitation Task Force. “Our goal is to empower parents with the knowledge and tools they need to help their kids stay safe, make smart choices, and avoid digital threats.”

These webinars are part of a broader initiative by the Hamilton County Health Department to support the health, safety, and well-being of families in the community.

“We recognize that parenting today comes with a unique set of challenges,” said James Ginder, Health Educator at the Hamilton County Health Department. “From medical emergencies to digital dangers, our goal is to provide timely, relevant resources that empower caregivers to respond confidently and keep their children safe.”

Both webinars are free to attend, but pre-registration is required. For more information, contact the Hamilton County Health Department at (317) 776-8500 or visit hamiltoncounty.in.gov.
