The race to first place in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference softball standings was about as tight as it could be during the 2023 season.

In fact, two teams finished at the top of the HCC standings: Fishers and Avon. The two schools tied for the conference championship this season, after both completed HCC campaigns with a 5-2 record.

Next up was a three-way tie for third place between the conference’s three other Hamilton County schools: Hamilton Southeastern, Westfield and Noblesville all compiled 4-3 records. The Shamrocks would go on to win the Sectional 8 championship, marking the first time ever that a Shamrocks softball team claimed a sectional title.

All four county HCC schools finished the year with winning records. The Royals were 20-8, Westfield went 17-14, the Tigers were 15-8-1 and the Millers finished 14-11-1.
