HCC boys track & field meet: County teams get several event wins

Hamilton County’s Hoosier Crossroads Conference boys track teams traveled to Avon Thursday for the conference meet.

The host Orioles won the team championship with 128.5 points, with Brownsburg scoring 99 points for runner-up honors. Noblesville was the top county team, taking third with 83.5 points.

The Millers won three individual events, beginning with the 4×800 relay. The team of Isaiah Vohs, Jack Rush, Bode Barnes and Jack Shinneman finished the race in 7 minutes, 54.12 seconds. Banner Barnes led a 1-2 finish in the 800 run (1:54.20), with Bradyn Livingston placing second. John Libs was first in the 3200 run (9:14.07).

Hamilton Southeastern picked up two victories. Christian Ortiz won the 200 dash in 21.18 seconds, while Evan Senefeld cleared 14 feet to take the pole vault.

Fishers’ Konrad Haynes soared to a win in the high jump, with a best leap of 6 feet, 8 inches. Westfield’s 4×100 relay team of Maison McCray, Caleb Terril, Cayden Gearhart and Cato June placed first in that event, in a time of 41.59 seconds.
