‘Hawks overwhelm Taylor for first HHC win

Sheridan picked up its first Hoosier Heartland Conference victory of the season on Friday, overwhelming Taylor 60-25 in a game at Hobbs Memorial Hall.
The Blackhawks were in control from the start, shutting out the Titans in the first quarter for a 15-0 lead. Sheridan then lead 36-6 at halftime.
Two Blackhawks earned double-doubles. Audrey Reed poured in 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Nixon Williams corralled 12 rebounds, scored 11 points and made four steals. Heather Barker also was solid on defense with five steals.
Sheridan is now 1-1 in the HHC and 5-3 overall; this is the Blackhawks’ third straight win. Sheridan will travel to Clinton Central on Tuesday to continue conference play.
