Sheridan picked up a Hoosier Heartland Conference victory on Friday, beating Eastern 49-43 at Hobbs Memorial Hall.
The Blackhawks trailed 12-5 after the first quarter and 27-19 at halftime. Sheridan began to chip away at the Comets’ lead in the third period, then ran away with the fourth, outscoring Eastern 14-4.
Ange Gnamkey led the Blackhawks’ scoring with 13 points, also grabbing five rebounds and making five steals. Austin Hunter added 11 points. Drake Delph and Nick Burnell each had six rebounds, with Burnell blocking two shots.
Sheridan is now 2-1 in the HHC and 4-2 overall. Next up for the ‘Hawks is a Tuesday trip to North Montgomery.
