Sheridan dropped its Hoosier Heartland Conference and regular-season finale at Rossville 51-42 on Tuesday.
The Blackhawks led 10-5 after the first quarter, but the Hornets came back to tie the game at 19-19 by halftime. Rossville then took the lead in the third period and held on in the fourth.
Audrey Reed scored 24 points for Sheridan, including three 3-pointers. Both Reed and Nixon Williams pulled eight rebounds, while Heather Barker made five steals.
The Blackhawks finished the season with a 13-8 record, and tied for third in the conference with a 4-3 mark. Sheridan will await the winner of a Tuesday (Jan. 30) first-round game between Wapahani and Monroe Central at the Frankton sectional; the ‘Hawks will play that winner in the Friday, Feb. 2 semi-finals.
