Sheridan dropped a Hoosier Heartland Conference game at Taylor on Friday, 61-55.
The Blackhawks led 20-16 after the first quarter, with Corbin Murray and Keenan Warren both scoring six points. But the Titans took over in the second period, outscoring Sheridan 19-8 to hold a 35-28 halftime advantage. The ‘Hawks cut Taylor’s lead to 45-41 by the end of the third quarter, but Taylor was able to hold on in the fourth.
Sheridan coach Tod Windlan said that his team “couldn’t execute the layups, nor make the free throws,” adding that the 3-point shooting was off.
“We can’t win playing like that,” said Windlan. “Got to do better and be ready for tomorrow’s game.”
Kyle Eden scored 20 points for the game, including 14 in the second half. Warren added 11 points and Murray scored 10. Ethan Moistner collected 13 rebounds and chipped in eight points, while Warren also had rebounds. Eden dished out six assists and Murray handed out four assists.
The Blackhawks are 1-2 in conference play and 5-5 overall. Sheridan is scheduled to host North Miami this afternoon.
