‘Hawks beat Tipton for sixth straight win

The Sheridan girls basketball team rolled to its sixth consecutive win on Thursday, beating Tipton 54-48 at Hobbs Memorial Hall.
The Blackhawks led 10-8 after the first quarter and 27-22 at halftime. The Blue Devils cut Sheridan’s lead slightly, to 36-33 after three periods, but an 18-point fourth quarter helped the ‘Hawks to seal the win.
Audrey Reed scored 16 points for Sheridan. The Blackhawks had balanced scoring, with Jillian O’Flaherty adding eight points and Izzy Mangin scoring seven. O’Flaherty and Reed each made two 3-pointers. Allie Delph pulled five rebounds.
Sheridan is now 13-4 for the season and travel to Kokomo on Tuesday.
