Harold “Hal” Van Dyke Hatch Jr.

October 26, 1942 – February 18, 2024

Harold “Hal” Van Dyke Hatch Jr., 81, Noblesville, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024. Hal was born on October 26, 1942, in Oak Park, Ill. In 1965, he married Virginia Kaye Yueill, and one month later, was drafted by the Army and served in artillery. He took a European discharge, traveling for three months with Kaye. They returned to Angola, Ind., where he graduated from Tri State University with a B.S. in 1969.

Hal worked for Montgomery Ward and then ran his own computer company, INSOFT, in the Noblesville area. After retiring, Hal cared for his grandchildren for several years. Hal enjoyed traveling to St. Maarten with his wife and family for 27 years.

Hal was preceded in death by his parents, Harold V. Hatch Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Hatch.

Hal is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia Kaye; children, Jennifer (Mark) Wysong, Leslie (Brent) Crandall, and Kevin (Janell) Hatch; grandchildren, Dylan Hatch, Tiffany Waddell, Dakota Crandall, Trevor Hatch, Terron Lamm, Chase Crandall, Daniel Wysong, and Anastasia Hatch; great-grandchildren, Linkin Waddell and Yunalesca McNeil; and his sister, Gayle Popken.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., with services and military honors at 7 p.m., on Monday, February 26, 2024, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville.
