Hamilton Heights Middle School is proud to announce the induction of 38 new members to the National Junior Honor Society.

The annual induction ceremony, conducted Tuesday evening, featured the current eighth grade members leading the ceremony by introducing each new member.  The new members were inducted by reciting the New Member Pledge and then they signed their name into the middle school’s Honor Society book.

“We are very excited to welcome our newest members to this premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students,” said Kara Doenges, Hamilton Heights Middle School science teacher and Honor Society faculty advisor.  “Members of the Heights chapter participate in many school service projects throughout the district including writing letters to families during the holidays and BackPack Buddies at the primary and elementary schools. They also help throughout the community at local churches, food pantries and summer camps.  The eighth grade members will be traveling to Cincinnati for a leadership trip next month.”

To be eligible to become a member of the National Junior Honor Society, students are required to meet academic standards prior to consideration for this honor and then they must demonstrate leadership, character, service and citizenship in order to be selected.
