Commencement ceremonies at Hamilton Heights High School for the Class of 2018 brought in a full house and 167 students who crossed the stage to receive their diplomas on Saturday.
The Invocation was given by Allison Osborne, Vice-President of the Class of 2018. Principal Jarrod Mason welcomed the class and guests. Brooke Pennington, President of the Class of 2018, served as the Master of Ceremonies.
Class Valedictorian Cody Kantor graduated with a grade-point average of 4.518. Leigh Anne Reuter was the Salutatorian with a 4.4 grade-point average.
Students graduating among the top 10 percent of the class included: Madison Bickett, Alexis Branham, Alane Byer, Campbell Houston, Cody Kantor, Kayla Kirtley, Emma Knowles, Emily Malott, Carter McGill, Allison Osborne, Janae Osswald, Brooke Pennington, Dawson Phifer, Leigh Anne Reuter, Megan Rice, Stephen Skiles and Elizabeth Tindal.
“Each class is special … each in its own way,” said Mason of this year’s class, who accumulated $1 million in scholarships for continuing education. “They are well-rounded, opinionated, involved, caring and highly motivated. I am really proud of them and will miss the diversity of this class.”
