The Jazz Band dazzled at the ISSMA Jazz Contest in Kokomo, earning a prestigious Gold rating. A special round of applause goes to Cole Martin, Maddy Lustig, Nicole Eberhard, Micah White, and Luke Lively, who brought home multiple outstanding soloist awards. The Hamilton Heights Middle School Jazz Band also performed well at the ISSMA Jazz Contest earning a Silver rating. Luke Aldwardt received an outstanding solo award. What an incredible showcase of Husky talent at the Kokomo event!
The Heights Indoor Percussion (HIP) group has also been hitting high notes, claiming first place overall in Class A “Movement” at the IPA Invitational in Westfield and securing third place at the IPA Noblesville Invitational. HIP placed 12th overall at the Indiana Percussion Association State Prelims Competition last Saturday earning a trip to the State Finals Competition at Indiana State University on Saturday.
Adding to the excitement, the HHMS Concert Bands shone brightly at the ISSMA Organization Contest. The Eighth- and Sixth-Grade bands achieved a remarkable Gold rating, while the Seventh-Grade Band earned a well-deserved Silver rating. Each performance exemplified hard work, dedication, and musical excellence.
