After more than a decade of planning, Hamilton County will finally have a Fallen Fire Fighters Memorial. A groundbreaking ceremony with family members of fire fighters took place last Friday afternoon in the area behind the Government & Judicial Center in downtown Noblesville.
Hamilton County Professional Fire Fighters Local 4416 President Jim Butts thanked Battalion Chief (Ret.) Mike Cook for his past and continued dedication to this project and the support of L4416 members, companies in the community, and the Hamilton County Commissioners in making this much-needed memorial a reality.
While much of the labor and materials will be donated, there is still a shortage of the amount needed to finish the construction. Paver sales and general fundraising are open one last time; the deadline to order pavers is Friday, June 30. You can order a paver or make a general donation at tinyurl.com/HamCoFallenFFMemorial.
