In cooperation with the Hamilton County Health Department, Hamilton County Parks and Recreation (HCPR) is closing the Cool Creek Nature Center located in Cool Creek Park, and the Taylor Center of Natural History and Koteewi Range Sport and Target Archery Center, both located in Strawtown Koteewi Park, until further notice.
Additionally, as a precautionary measure, all park programs, events and facility rentals will be suspended from March 16 through April 15. The duration of this action may be extended based on health risks assessed at the end of this defined time period.
At this time, Hamilton County Parks and Recreation park grounds will remain open and accessible to the public to enjoy isolated recreation, which will become increasingly important during this time. Maintenance services will continue to be provided in the parks. And as before, enhanced cleaning measures will continue to be taken throughout the park system.
To receive ongoing updates regarding HCPR park operations, the public is encouraged to visit the Hamilton County Parks and Recreation Facebook page or call the HCPR Administrative Office at (317) 770-4400.
As always, HCPR thanks those affected for understanding the reasoning behind making the difficult decision to close these specific facilities and will re-open them as soon as being directed to do so.
