Hamilton County Express (HCE), which is operated by Janus Developmental Services, is considered an essential service and continues to provide on-demand public transportation for Hamilton County residents.

The program is available to meet the transportation needs of individuals with disabilities as well as the general public. The hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The cost is $3 for a one-way trip. Call (317) 773-2688 to schedule a ride.

Riverview Health Rides, which is also operated by Janus, continues to provide door-to-door service to medical appointments at Riverview Health facilities. Rides are available to patients with appointments at any of the 29 Riverview Health locations. All vehicles are wheelchair accessible. The hours for this service are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and the cost is $5 for a round trip. Call (317) 473-2323 to schedule a ride.

HCE and Riverview Health Rides are known for their spotlessly clean buses, but to fight COVID-19, additional sanitary measures are being taken. For example, all passenger seats, handrails, etc. are sanitized immediately as each individual leaves the bus.

With so many people sheltering in place at home, the turn-around time for a ride is much shorter and occasionally same day rides can be accommodated. The goal continues to be one that serves and makes Hamilton County easily accessible to everyone.
